It is inevitable.....

that I would find out Hottie Hot pants doesn't look as good clothed.  He is still beautiful, but with street clothing covering the body, well......... not the same.  But I still got to stare for 13 minutes today.

I did 2.5 miles on the bike- would have done more but he was finished and my butt was starting to hurt!  So I went to the circuit room and did upper body.  Here is the break down:

Bike: 2.5 miles/13 minutes (avg rpms- 82)
Circuit:
shoulder press- 25 pounds
pec deck- 40 pounds
bicep- 25 pounds
tricep- 35 pounds
row- 35 pounds
140 crunches

Weighed myself- am I ever going to LOSE anything?????????????

13 for Thursday

1.  Glad to be blogging again.
2. Still wonder if anyone reads this!
3. Summer is way too busy.
4. I always have grand plans, but nothing ever gets done.
5. I want to finish some projects around the house.
6. Hard to do with no money and no time.
7. I have had to sacrifice creativity to drive my children all over the world.
8. But, my bedroom needs a major overhaul!
9. We did get a new bed, but we still need bedding, paint, window treatments, a dresser.......
10. Zachary's room also needs to get finished- we painted it a year ago, and have done nothing else!
11. SOOOOO- if I accomplish anything in those two rooms, I will be very happy!
12. And, of course, if I survive the summer without being charged with child endangerment, I will consider it a success.
13. Oh, and a job would be nice, too!

The Reason I Ride that Bike........

In case any wonders what Hottie Hot Pants looks like, this is a good reference tool.  He is more athletic looking and has tattoos on his right shoulder and left rib cage....... not that I was looking.

Happy Vegan Day

So, today is my first vegan day.  Why vegan? Well, it is a way to get one good day of plant based eating, to prove to myself I can.  Kind of like "meatless Monday" for some other folks...... I may add more as I get more comfortable- I want clean eating to become second nature (as I eat a peanut butter cookie).

Was today a success?  Well, for starters, I had not considered my morning cup of coffee.  My beloved Bailey's creamer is made of MILK (most definitely NOT vegan).  Also, I did not have vegan salad dressing and did not have time to prepare a vinaigrette.  So, not totally vegan, but not a failure.  So here is what I did/ate today:
Exercise:
5.25 miles on bike

Breakfast:
Smoothie- 1/2 banana, 1 spoonful almond butter, 3 ice cubes, 8 ounces chocolate almond milk.
Water (16 oz)

Lunch:
Salad- romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber,carrot, 1/4 cup kidney beans, 1 tbl sunflower seeds, home made russian dressing (contained mayo- bummer)
Kiwi
Water (16 oz)

Snack:
peanut butter cookie (not vegan either- I forgot)
coffee w/ almond milk

Dinner:
hot and sour soup
cherry vanilla creme soda
water (16 oz)

**yoga did not happen because David's baseball game was not at 6 and I had to pick up Zachary**
BUT I did pick up some salad dressing and coconut milk coffee creamer, plus sweet rice flour at the market!

I workout......

Yesterday, I went to the gym.  I intended to warm up on the treadmill, then go lift weights.  As I was leaving the cardio room, Hottie Hot Pants was walking in......so naturally I traded my weight lifting for a prime bike seat in the front row.......with his treadmill directly behind me!  I watched him for the next 7 miles........

So, since I did extra cardio instead of lifting, I went BACK to the gym for circuit training in the evening, thank you very much!  Today I walked 2 miles while Zachary was at rugby practice.  I ate chili fries for lunch (booo), so dinner was two carrots and hummus.........

So, tomorrow will be a cardio day (at 6:45, so I can have a nice view,lol).  It is sad because I am old enough to be his mother and I am sure that even when I was 20, he never would have looked my way.  And he is not even blonde.  But it keeps me motivated.  I am down two more pounds- I weigh less than when I got pregnant with Zachary.

I have also declared Wednesdays "Vegan Days".  It is also yoga night...........

thirteen for ....... tuesday?

1.  I am trying to make a comeback.
2.  Time off was needed- I have just finished the suckiest year ever in the history of teaching.
3.  I felt like anything and everything could be used against me, so the less I had to say, the better.
4.  Out with the old, in with the new.....
5. I am looking for a job- was "laid off" from the last one (I still say it was personal, very personal).
6.  My kids will start a new school in the fall.
7.  I am continuing to work on myself. Am still working out- am down 25 pounds.  I am trting to dress better and take better care of myself.
8.  I am going to try to enjoy this summer, as much as possible.
9.  September might find me stocking coolers at the Royal Farms store, but that is OK.
10.  I finally bought a new digital camera and will try to add photos to the blog soon....
11.  I am amazed at how miserable another human being can make me.
12.  I have been freed of the burden, but it has been replaced by another one- I have no job and my insurance expires soon- and I will have a hard time getting new insurance.
13.  And, there you have it....... more on actual Thursday!
